National electric violin - The 'Violectric'.

From the 1940 catalogue.

The first of these electric violins had f holes, and were, we assume, a standard violin bought in and modified. Later ones had no 'f ' holes, this might have been just to save a few cents in manufacturing, or quite possibly, to reduce feedback problems which would have been a whole new 'kettle of fish' in this new amplified era!
